PLASTIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE & COSMETIC SURGEON
Whilst all medical doctors can call themselves cosmetic surgeons, the “Specialist Plastic Surgeon” title can only be used by surgeons in the recognised specialty of plastic surgery who are recognised by the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, such as Dr Mark Hanikeri. He is also a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Reduce the physical discomfort caused by large breasts.
If you are experiencing a substantial amount of discomfort as a result of large and heavy breasts, breast reduction surgery may be a viable consideration. In a breast reduction procedure, excess breast tissue and skin are removed, resulting in smaller and firmer breasts. After removal of an appropriate amount of tissue, the remaining breast tissue is reshaped to create a smaller and more elevated breast.
Important information about breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is a procedure where you should achieve good proportion with the hips, the body’s frame. It’s not about size, it’s about appearance. It’s about looking natural.
Dr Hanikeri will talk you through the issues of implant placement (vis in front of the muscle or behind it), as well as types of implants and their respective pros and cons.
Once all that information is presented, it’s about working with you to ascertain the look you are after. And whether or not it’s something Dr Hanikeri can deliver—and which implants would be used to achieve their desired outcome based on your starting point and frame.
What to consider when thinking about abdominoplasty (aka tummy tuck)
There are three reasons people get abdominoplasty:
Pregnancy, Significant weight loss, and Ageing
It should be noted abdominoplasty is not a weight loss solution. And Dr Hanikeri will not perform this procedure on patients over a BMI of 28/29. This is because abdominoplasty is a purely cosmetic procedure—and cannot replace or substitute bariatric surgery.
For post-pregnancy patients, it is recommended that you wait until you’ve finished having kids before undergoing this procedure. Similarly, for post-weight loss patients, it is often recommend that you sustain your new weight for a period before undergoing abdominoplasty.
